Amelia Alado has more than fifteen years of post qualification experience having qualified as an attorney-at-law in the Philippines in 1999. She successfully completed Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) in 2008 at BPP Law School in London.She has multi-jurisdictional knowledge and experience and has worked in private,
government and third sectors in various jurisdictios. She boasts a wide array of clientsand professional networks spanning several countries around the world.
Amelia was the first Filipino (and second in the world) recipient of Intellectual Property (IP) Fellowship under the auspices of Japan Patent Office and World Intellectual Property Office. She had private tuition from notable law professors from Waseda and Sofia Universities whilst doing her training and research at Asia Pacific Intellectual Property Centre and Japan Institute of Invention & Innovation.
Amelia is currently developing her practice in the ASEAN region taking advantage of them recently established ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in December 2015. AEC’s aim is the integration of the ten countries ultimately having: (a) a single market and production base, (b) a highly competitive economic region, (c) a region of equitable economic development, and (d) a region fully integrated into the global economy. With a combined GDP of US$2.6 trillion in 2014, the ASEAN economy was the 7th largest in the world and the 3rd largest in Asia. The region is also home to 622 million people and the 3rd largest market in the world.
