

Bernard graduated in law from City University obtaining a Master’s Degree with distinction in Intellectual Property. He joined the firm in January 1976. He is a specialist in all aspects of UK Immigration and Nationality law as well as European law.
In addition to Immigration Bernard also specialises in Family law.
The celebrated cases of Shah and Islam (House of Lords) and Baumbast and Rolet (European Court of Justice) are just two of a number of successful ground breaking decision in his portfolio of higher court decisions.
Appointed by the Lord Chancellor as a part-time Immigration Judge, he sits on the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber).
He is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association (ILPA), a former member of the Executive Committee of ILPA, the International Bar Association (IBA) and Resolution. He is also a regular contributor to many immigration legal and commercial journals.
